Saint Paul's Catholic High School in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester brought Sister Act the musical to life as their smash-hit Christmas show. What a show!!

What a cast! Sister Act is the feel-amazing musical comedy based on the smash hit movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and Maggie Smith.

Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won't be found - a Convent. Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.

Based on the iconic movie, the musical is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music.

Shalom's performance as Deloris Van Cartier was electric. Her energy is amazing, as is her voice. Among the other standout performances were Ruva as the Mother Superior who had excellent comic timing and Eva and Grace as Sisters Mary Robert and Mary Patrick. Claudiu scores big laughs as the good-natured police officer Eddie Souther ("Sweaty Eddie") who has the biggest crush on Cartier.

Rehoboth managed to embody the word 'sinister' with his portrayal of Deloris's evil boyfriend Curtis and Nino was outstanding as Monsignor O'Hara the exuberant minister intent on raising funds for the cathedral.

The music, directed by Mrs Rebecca Housley, was fantastic. The set, designed and produced by Ms Rebecca Coyle and Mr Mark Oliver, was outstanding. The dancing was energetic, precise and ambitious throughout, choreographed skillfully by Miss Louise Jordan. The production was masterminded by Mrs Kathryn Slater, who worked tirelessly with a team of costume designers, stage managers, a sound engineer (Ms Chloe Nugent ) and a lighting technician (Ms Xenia Smeeton).

Mrs Kathryn Slater, Head of Performing Arts, who directed the show, said: "What a fantastic performance! The pupils' singing, dancing and acting was truly special. I was extremely proud of our students, they worked so hard and put so much energy into the show making it a huge success."

"A triumph! Sister Act was a stunning show, delivered by an accomplished cast. There were some outstanding performances and some inspired characterizations," said Head Teacher, Mr Alex Hren. "Congratulations to our incredibly talented pupils for another fantastic production. Credit must also go those staff who worked tirelessly to give our pupils this fantastic opportunity. The show was amazing - a real spectacular, it left songs in your head and a smile on your face!"
