Contribute to Synod 2022 discussion online

Dioceses across the UK are promoting discussion among the laity about the way in which the Catholic Church should approach the challenges facing it in the modern world, some of which have been exacerbated by the pandemic. One ICN reader has devised an online survey that has already had success in significantly increasing parishioner participation in the debate, with the added inclusion of those Catholics who, for various reasons, now attend Mass irregularly or not all - addressing Pope Francis's request that "all the baptised" should feel able to be involved.

Participation in the survey is anonymous - enabling those involved to be entirely frank about how they honestly feel about the issues addressed - and it is hoped that all Catholics, wherever they find themselves in the debate on those issues, will feel comfortable about being involved. The bigger, and more representative, the response received, the more significance may be placed on the survey results.

It is intended that the results will be made available to the appropriate authorities so that the UK bishops' submissions to the Synod in Rome can properly reflect the honest views of Catholics that they will be representing.

The survey will remain open until Monday 28 February after which the results will be made available to the Conference of Catholic Bishops in England and Wales. It is also hoped that the results will be published. Individual participants in the survey will also have the opportunity to receive a copy of the results directly.

Here is the link. Please participate, and hopefully be encouraged to pass the link to your family and friends as well.
