Papal Nuncio to lead prayers at Trafalgar Square Ukraine rally

The Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, will lead a short prayer for peace in Ukraine at a rally in Trafalgar Square tomorrow (Saturday 5 March ). Organised by the main Ukrainian community organisations in the UK, the rally will begin at 12 noon.

Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti will assure those who stand with Ukraine and those who have family and friends in Ukraine that the Holy Father is remembering them in his prayers.

Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski, bishop for Ukrainian, Belarusian and Slovak Eastern Catholics in Great Britain, will accompany him and it is expected that other Christian leaders in Great Britain will also be present at the Stand With Ukraine rally.

They will join the leaders and members of 'Euro-Maidan', The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, the Ukrainian Women's Organizations in Great Britain, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches in Great Britain, among others.

More than 15,000 people from throughout England are expected to attend.
