Holy Land: Report documents harsh treatment of children at checkpoints
Source: CPT
The latest report from Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) documents the daily experiences of hundreds of children in the H2 area of al-Khalil/Hebron, as they pass through military checkpoints on their way to school and back to their homes.
Eleven schools, three kindergartens, and a medical centre are located in the old city in proximity to the checkpoints where CPT monitors.
The students are regularly subjected to delays, bag checks, detention, and use of force by heavily armed Israeli soldiers. Teachers and parents are also subjected to ID, bag, and body checks, which often occur in front of their children.
