New priest director for Radio Maria England

On the feast day of St George, 26 April, Dr Charles Wilson, the president of Radio Maria England, announced: "It is with great pleasure that I confirm that Fr Toby Lees will be starting on 1st July as our new priest director, as Fr Andreas' year in England comes to an end. We thank Fr Andreas for his invaluable input during this time." Fr Toby will begin this position on July 1st.

Fr Toby is a Dominican priest who has been a regular on the programme Culture Tuesday and a co-presenter for the Sport and Faith series and we look forward to a fruitful time under his guidance.

Fr Toby said he's: "Delighted, honoured and excited to be the new priest director and I look forward to building upon the great work of Fr Sam Randall and of Fr Andreas Schätzle."

Radio Maria England is a 24-hour station. It is part of a worldwide network of more than 80 radio stations on all continents. We offer a voice of hope and encouragement. In February 2022, Radio Maria announced the new studio in London based at a Marian Shrine, the diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary situated at St Dominic's Priory in north west London, between Camden and Hampstead.

The programme of Radio Maria is based on three pillars: prayer, catechesis and human formation. Daily we broadcast Mass and spiritual content, as well as social programmes and worldwide news. Currently, collaborations with the Dominicans in Cambridge have included morning prayers, daily Mass and religious teaching programmes including topics on the Divine Office, saints and sacred scripture. With this new studio at the Rosary Shrine, Radio Maria is looking forward to developing collaborations which will also further the mission of the Rosary Shrine.

As a charity Radio Maria works with a great number of volunteers in all areas. Our volunteers assist with promotion, broadcasting, creating and presenting programmes, and praying.
