Common Good Lecture Series at Lincoln Cathedral

Jenny Sinclair
Together for the Common Good is beginning a new lecture series at Lincoln Cathedral next Tuesday, 7 June. The series explores how social theology helps churches and Christians play their part in spiritual and civic renewal, in terms of economy, work, nature, human freedom, social peace, politics and civic life. T4CG Founder Director Jenny Sinclair is giving the introductory lecture on the subject of: 'Just Responsibility?'
Lectures will be relevant for any thoughtful Christian and others interested in civic and spiritual renewal. Speakers from a range of traditions and broad, practical experience will draw on the gifts of Christian theology, in particular from the body of thinking known as Catholic Social Teaching.
Further lectures confirmed are:
Lord Glasman, Labour life peer in the House of Lords and Professor of Politics at St Mary's University, Director of The Common Good Foundation which is involved in local community organising work in Grimsby.
Edward Hadas, Fellow at Blackfriars Hall, Oxford, author of Counsels of Imperfection: Thinking Through Catholic Social Teaching, lecturer on moral economics and finance and a freelance journalist formerly with Reuters Breakingviews.
Revd Dr Malcolm Brown, Director of Mission and Public Affairs for the Church of England, and Visiting Professor in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Winchester, author of Anglican Social Theology: Renewing the Vision Today.
All are welcome. The organisers warmly invite anyone within easy reach of Lincoln to come along in person. All lectures will be in person from 6.30pm - 8pm at Lincoln Cathedral, Minster Yard, Lincoln LN2 1PX . Recordings will be on YouTube afterwards.
The series is sponsored by CCLA, a leading UK ethical investment management company.
