Conference of Religious seeks Comms volunteers
The Conference of Religious (CoR), which is the Secretariat for the Leaders of religious congregations in England & Wales, is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help develop its digital profile and social media engagement.
ROLE PURPOSE:
Working under the guidance of the Communications Lead, this is an exciting opportunity to develop the profile of a diverse membership organisation. It will allow the postholder the opportunity to actively contribute to enhancing CoR's profile, gain experience in editorial decision making and learn about developing strategic communications. It offers the chance to build a portfolio of work to show potential employers and display creativity and technical knowledge.
SPECIFIC TASKS:
Expanding our current social media engagement, with regular & scheduled posts on Twitter
Enhancing our Instagram profile
Developing our presence on TikTok
Developing a bank of images for use on social media and on our website
Getting quotes and comments from members of religious congregations as a way of expanding the impact and presence of Religious in the digital sphere
Developing short video content for our social media feeds and Youtube channel
Developing content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis.
Monitoring analytics to identify viable ideas
SKILLS & QUALITIES:
Skilled at social media engagement
Competent at video creation and editing
Broad understanding of Religious life
Creative approach to the portrayal of members of religious congregations
Flexible and adaptable
Tactful and polite with good verbal communications skills
A clear and friendly manner
Reliability and good timekeeping
DESIRABLE:
Good awareness of the Catholic community
An understanding of religious congregations
COMMITMENT:
Able to commit to one or two days a week, which can be flexible
Ability to work out of headquarters in Euston as required
Willingness to commit to 3 - 6 months of volunteering
