This is a new opportunity to produce two pilot podcasts which will focus on reaching out to a new, potentially younger audience who are interested in some (or all) of these issues: Catholic life, the 'bigger picture', Ignatian spirituality, how to make 'good' decisions and living an 'authentic life'. This role would be ideal either for somebody who wants to gain more experience in producing podcasts, or a seasoned producer who would like to expand their range of output.

This role will be integral in helping to design, produce and broadcast a new pilot podcast for Thinking Faith, which is an online publication from the Jesuits in Britain. Thinking Faith explores issues of Faith, Ethics and Belief through the lens of contemporary issues. It has recently completed a process of reimagining what it offers, and to whom, which means that this is an exciting opportunity to become involved in the first stages of a new creative endeavour.

Audio technical skills are essential for this role, but equally important is the ability to research and produce a podcast. A knowledge of Jesuit spirituality is useful, but not essential, as the producer will work closely with the podcast host.

Thinking Faith is one of the Works of the Jesuits in Britain, who are part of the global Catholic religious order of the Society of Jesus. Increasingly, the Jesuits' mission is focused on accompanying young people, and those who live on the margins of society. It does this through, among other things, education, supporting asylum seekers and the homeless, research into ecological issues, and grant-giving to good causes.

The Jesuits are priests and brothers, but their mission is supported by a wide variety of lay staff from different backgrounds who are motivated by a desire for a fairer, more just world.

The position is for half a day's work a week (four hours), for an initial run of ten weeks, and is based in Mayfair, central London, with a small, friendly team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

- Previous experience of working as a show or studio producer.

- Technical aptitude for recording and editing audio to broadcast quality, with an imaginative attitude, and willingness to try new ideas.

- Experience of Adobe Audition and Pro Tools.

- An interest in issues of faith, belief and self-growth, although in-depth knowledge of the subject area is not necessary.

- Good communicator and team player, able to engage with a wide range of people ranging from other team members to potential guests.

- Motivated, and able to set and adhere to deadlines.

- The salary is £20 per hour, for 4 hours per week.

To apply, please send your CV, an example of your audio work, and a covering letter explaining why you are right for the role to jmcmanus@jesuit.org.uk.

The closing date for applications is Friday 6th January 2023.
