Leicester: The blessing of St Colette
A prayer service with the blessing of St Colette will take place at St Edward's, Aylestone, Leicester LE2 8TF, on Saturday, 4 February, at 11am.
A chance to pray for peace, for healing and new life, this blessing is an opportunity to come together as a people of prayer. St Colette is the patron saint of those who long to conceive a child, expectant mothers, sick children and the healing of a world at odds with God.
The blessing of St Colette is traditionally given with two threads of her mantle sewn into a Poor Clare veil, the veil is laid over the head of the person asking to receive it. The prayer service ends with the chaplet of St Colette with its repeated prayer: As God pleases as God wills.
