Fairtrade London History Walk
Saturday, 11th March 11am- 2pm
Hay's Galleria, Tooley Street, SE1 2DA
Join us on a history walk like no other. We will follow the story of three important commodities - coffee, tea and sugar - whose history is intertwined with London's past, present and future as a global trading centre.
The transatlantic slave trade is a central part of the story, and links to the modern day inequalities that blight the trade in tropical commodities and are finally beginning to be tackled by Fairtrade supply chains.
This is a two to three hour walk, with opportunities for refreshments along the way. Meet at 11am by the big ship in Hays Galleria near London Bridge.
