Lincoln Lecture: John Cruddas MP on 'Just Working?'

Jon Cruddas MP sets out the importance of the dignity of work for civic and spiritual renewal, and why it must be the cornerstone of a politics of the common good, in his lecture to be delivered at Lincoln Cathedral on Tuesday 11 July at 6.30-7.45pm and available online.

A seasoned politician and policy expert whose analysis is underpinned by the tradition of Catholic social teaching, Jon asserts why work is fundamentally a spiritual activity through which people collaborate with God for the redemption of humanity.

Jon Cruddas is the Labour MP for Dagenham and Rainham and author of The Dignity of Labour. Jon is an Honorary Professor at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues at the University of Birmingham, and is writing a history of the Labour Party to mark the 100 year centenary of the first Labour Government in January 2024. He is also a visiting fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford and a visiting professor at the University of Leicester.

This free series is delivered in partnership with Together for the Common Good and CCLA.
