The Carer's Tale: 'living well with dementia'

Source: Caritas Leeds

The Carer's Tale is a series of short clips from an interview with Maureen Crossley which may help, comfort or inspire people 'living well' with dementia and those who love and care for them.

The short weekly series continues on the Caritas Leeds YouTube channel with Episode 4 now available to view here… This week, Maureen tells how she and Mike adapted some aspects of daily life in the early years after his dementia diagnosis.

Maureen and her late husband Mike were members of the Caritas Leeds Dementia Forum in the Diocese of Leeds. They got involved in telling their story for a ground-breaking book, Journeying Together: accompanying people living with dementia by our own Deacon Joseph Cortis and Dr Pia Matthews from St Mary's University, Twickenham. The book is published by Redemptorist Publications and available to order here: www.rpbooks.co.uk/journeying-... and was launched on 27 June 2023 with the kind support of our partners at Leeds Church Institute: https://lcileeds.org/

Next week in Episode 5 … Maureen and Mike's friends rally round, but there are fears for Mike's safety as his condition becomes increasingly serious.
