London: Chopin Festival
After the success of last year's Chopin Festival, there were many curtain calls for an encore - and so it returns to the Polish Social and Cultural Centre POSK, in Hammersmith, west London, on Saturday, 21 October 2023.
This year's programme once again showcases many world class artists and speakers.
Pianist Mateusz Borowiak, the harp and flute duo Alina Bzhezhinska and Margaret Preston, guitar player Adam Palma and pianist Jakub Kuszlik will be performing at the Gala Concert in the POSK Theatre.
Chopin Jazz with the Stephen Ellery Project will happen in The Jazz Club.
There will be an exhibition in the Sala Orłów, provided by the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute in Warsaw. The Polish Schools Chopin Poetry Competition prizegiving will take place in the Atrium.
Talks in The Jazz Club include: Professor John Rink from the Cambridge Faculty of Music, and Fellow and Director of Studies in Music at St John's College on 'How did Chopin Play? - Dr Ewa Sławinska-Dahlig, Director General of the Fryderyk Chopin Society in Poland on Pupils of Fryderyk Chopin - and Lady Rose Cholmondeley, President of the Chopin Society UK on Chopin in Majorca.
