London: Jewish peace protesters pray in St Pancras Station

Dozens of Jewish protesters gathered in the main concourse of St Pancras Station station - terminus of the Eurostar trains to Europe - about 7.45 this morning, and held shacharit (morning prayers). Some wore cloaks and carried banners saying: "free Palestine" , "never again for anyone", "Jews say ceasefire now!" as they called for an end to the attacks in Gaza. One group said: "Stop bombing Gaza. Not in our name."
When British Transport Police tried to move them on, the group refused to leave, chanting: "Let us pray. Let us pray!" Eventually the police left them.
A British Transport Police press officer later said: "Just after 8am today, our officers attended a sit-in protest at St Pancras railway station. The group were reported to be peaceful and there were no reports of disorder. There was no impact on the station services and by 8.45am the group had moved on."
Note: there were also peaceful demos at Liverpool Street station in London and New Street station in Birmingham.
Dozens of peace vigils and marches are planned in cities and towns around the UK this coming weekend. Visit ICN's Listings page for more information: www.indcatholicnews.com/news/17805
