Scottish Laity Network Advent Journey
The Scottish Laity Network's online Advent programme for Advent 2023 takes the theme: 'Waiting in Grief for Peace - The Power of Lament'. Four weekly sessions start on 30 November. The programme asks: "In the midst of suffering and desolation how do we manage to grieve and do justice to those we grieve for?"
Companion speakers include Alison Phipps who holds the UNESCO Chair in Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts at the University of Glasgow and Rev Muriel Pearson, a Church of Scotland Mission partner based in Israel-Palestine who is currently in Scotland. Also, Omar Haramy, an Orthodox Christian who works with the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center and Hyab Yohannes, academic coordinator for the Culture for Sustainable and Inclusive Peace Network Plus.
