Prince John Zylinski - RIP

The family of Prince John Zylinski have issued the following statement today:

In memory of the late Prince John Zylinski 25.07.1951 - 3.01.2024.

John passed away peacefully, after a short illness, on the 3rd January 2024, aged 72.

He was the son of Lieutenant Andrzej Zylinski, who commanded the famous cavalry charge in September 1939, near Kaluszyn, Poland. He was the creator and patron of the Golden Horseman statue in Kaluszyn, in honour of his father and the heroic Polish cavalrymen.

Born in London, and educated at St Benedict's School, Ealing, he studied history at the LSE.

He was a great Polish patriot and a generous philanthropist, supporting many charitable causes. He was named an honorary citizen of the towns of Kaluszyn and Gozdowo in Poland and was awarded the gold medal of the Association of Polish Knights of Malta (UK).

John was a man with a huge heart and inexhaustible creative energy.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 25th January 2024 at 2pm, at St. Benedict's Abbey, Charlbury Grove, Ealing, W5 2DY.

We bid him farewell with great sorrow and pray for his eternal rest.
