Jonathan Roumie arrives at London premier

The long awaited new series of the Chosen begins today - with a two-week run of the first three episodes in cinemas around the UK. Episodes 4 through 6 will come out on 15 February and episodes 7 and 8 will be shown from February 29.

Once its theatre run is over, the series will appear on The Chosen app, as well as television and cable.

The new series received a rapturous welcome when it premiered in London last week. Fans queued to get into Leicester Square to catch a glimpse of the cast - Elizabeth Tabish (Mary Magdalene), Shahar Isaac (Peter) Paras Patel (Matthew) and yes Jonathan Roumie, (Jesus) among others as they walked up the carpet into the cinema. Among the VIP guests was Archbishop Kevin McDonald, MP Sir Liam Fox, author Krish Kandia, Actors Ben Richards and Michelle Collins, Vanessa Feltz, Gemma Hunt, football stars Jason McCarthy, Ben John and Aidan Robert - and many more.

Dallas Jenkins, writer and director of The Chosen greeted the audience on a screen from Los Angeles. He thanked everyone for attending and said: "Season 4 marks the midpoint of the most famous and influential story in human history. It will be painful, and it will be joyous. It will be bittersweet. But by all measures, Season 4 will also be our best."
