St Benedict's School in Ealing will be introducing Football to their sports programme at the start of the new academic year in September 2024. This marks a new chapter for the school's sports provision.

St Benedict's School in Ealing, announces that Football is being introduced to their Lent Term Sports programme starting in September 2024.

The popularity and success of their current sports provision is a distinctive feature of the school and the introduction of football will further enhance the existing extensive sports opportunities available.

Traditional winter sports; rugby, fencing, netball and hockey will continue to be an important focus of their sports programme alongside football. From the outset, the culture and behaviours surrounding football will reflect the high standards currently associated with the school's other sports.

Headmaster, Joe Smith said: "The addition of football continues to build on a programme of sporting excellence within the school and will evolve significantly, year on year."

St Benedict's takes pride in encouraging all boys and girls to participate in sport and health-promoting physical activity as well as supporting those who wish to compete at any level. The opportunity for able and committed athletes to pursue sporting excellence is important to us all.

Mr Smith continued: "We are extremely excited by this new sporting chapter for St Benedict's and much work is taking place behind the scenes to ensure that Football is integrated as seamlessly as possible into the school, and into the games provision."

St Benedict's is a leading Catholic independent co-educational school for girls and boys aged 3 to 18.

Newly appointed Headmaster Joe Smith, joined St Benedict's in September 2023 where he was previously Headmaster of the Oratory School near Reading.
