Coventry Peace Vigil
Members of Coventry Pax Christi, Quakers, PSC, Moslems and Christians held a Silent Vigil in Coventry City Centre today, Monday 8 April. Calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the UK sending arms to Israel, we gathered around the statue of Lady Godiva. A woman who took action, against her powerful husband, in favour of justice for the people, she is a strong, local symbol for speaking out for the voiceless.
Many passers by slowed down to read our placards and it was heartening to see the nods, thumbs up, hand on heart and quiet verbal support.
Fr Moses joined us briefly before setting off home to Sudan, another country that needs our prayers for peace.
