Your review of Dignitas Infinita
Dear ICN,
As a service to Catholics, I am appalled at the one-sided and frankly denigratory review of the recent Vatican document Dignitas Infinita. Unfinished Dignity: Some Reflections On Dignitas Infinita - www.indcatholicnews.com/news/49556
The whole tone of your correspondent is condescending and almost sneering.
As someone involved in education as my footer may show, the clear doctrinal guidance in particular on gender issues, which accompany recent government guidance on this issue and also the Cass Report and decisive action by the NHS to prevent puberty blockers being given to vulnerable under 16 year olds, is of enormous help to schools and educators who have seen young people targeted by external activist organisations. Your correspondent's dismissal of a "brittle over-insistence on a binary understanding of sex and gender" does no justice to the clarity and certainty of the teaching in Dignitas Infinita, nor to scriptural authority.
By all means report the news on such documents as you must, but not in such a biased and unhelpful way which betrays a partisan stance rather than being of help to readers of your news.
Yours sincerely,
