Manchester: Quidditch fun at Saint Paul's!!

Students from Years 7, 8 and 9 at Saint Paul's Catholic High School in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester have enjoyed a Quidditch Event Day Experience with Enrich Education, the official education partner of QuidditchUK.

Inspired by the fictional game in the Harry Potter stories, and devised in 2005 at a school in Vermont, USA, Quidditch is a fast, physical and highly active sport, which is growing in popularity with young people everywhere.

The day began with an interactive and immersive sorting hat assembly, followed by engaging and exciting Quidditch sessions and tournament and ended with a closing assembly where the winners were announced...

It was a tie in the end with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw sharing the trophy!!

Quidditch is a fully inclusive sport which is played with mixed gender teams through the dynamic game play, the sport is inclusive to all abilities.

Quidditch taps into the young person's imagination and engages through intrigue about the sport and its links to the novels and the films. The sport of Quidditch encourages and engages all children even those that are not as enthused by traditional sports.

Ms Lilly Vaughan from Enrich Education commented: "I hope everyone at your school enjoyed the recent Quidditch event day! Our coaches said your children were a pleasure to work with and the teachers were really enthusiastic."

Mrs Erin Rudd, Year 8 Progress Leader at Saint Paul's, explained: "It was a fantastic, upbeat day which our pupils really enjoyed. Quidditch game play is fun, dynamic and fast paced. The sport of Quidditch can be a great tool used for cross-curricular engagement with its links to the Harry Potter literature."
