Southwark: RCIA Formation Days
The Archdiocese of Southwark will be holding two RCIA formation days this week for clergy and laypeople.
On Friday 28th June there is a day aimed at clergy (including deacons) which includes lunch. There is a more general day open to all on Saturday 29th June. Both will take place at the Amigo Hall Southwark. Even if people are not directly involved with RCIA they will be really useful formation days.
The days will be led by Dr Bill Keimig who is an inspired speaker and expert on RCIA. He is also the Director of the Association for Catechumenal Ministry (ACM), which assists the US dioceses in training clergy and laity to do RCIA ministry. In addition, Bill was the managing editor of the ACM's series of RCIA texts.
This will be an opportunity to examine some pastoral implications and to revitalise our practice in preparing adults for the Sacraments of Initiation. There will be an overall focus on the three aspects of RCIA - Liturgy/Catechesis/Pastoral.
