London premier of Where Can We Live In Peace
The London premier of the award-winning film Where Can We Live In Peace, by Canadian director Judy Jackson, will take place at Latin American House, 10 Kingsgate Place London, NW6 4TA on London, 28 June at 7pm
The film brings the inspirational story of the ABBA House migrant shelter in Celaya, Mexico. Funded by Pastor Ignacio Ramirez, ABBA House helps thousands of migrants who are fleeing from violence, poverty and climate change, desperately searching for a place where they can raise their children in safety. ABBA House also treats those who fall from trains and lose limbs
The US-Mexican border is a major issue for the coming US elections. While Trump promises massive deportations, and Biden threatens to close the border, migrants are increasingly demonised. At ABBA House they are treated with dignity.
The screening - part of Latin America House's 40th Anniversary Film Festival, will be followed by a discussion.
