Stonyhurst announces record set of International Baccalaureate results

Stonyhurst has announce a record set of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results. Pupils achieved an impressive average of 35 points, with 25% achieving 40 points or more (acknowledged as equivalent to 4A* grades at A-Level) and 40% achieving 36 points or more, well above the international average of 30 points for Diploma candidates. The cohort of 49 pupils was the schools largest to date with the above average score showing the quality of teaching across a very broad range of starting points and languages.
Top scorer, Clemens, who scored 44 points said: ''Stonyhurst has truly shaped my IB experience, as it not only places emphasis on academic success, but also on the importance of character development. These personal values, which align with Jesuit values and the IB Pupil Profile, are embodied through the teachers, who continuously strive to support us pupils to be 'as much as they can."
Mrs Debbie Kirkby, Director of IB said: "The entire IB team is so proud of the results achieved by this year's Diploma cohort. Their final scores are testament to the tremendous, combined efforts of the young people and their teachers; they represent a celebration of achievement for each and every one in the cohort."
Global university destinations include: University of St Andrews; University of Exeter; Hamilton College New York; University of Notre Dame US; King's College London; IE Madrid, University of Sydney; University of St Gallen Switzerland; Luiss Italy and Carnegie Mellon US.

Stonyhurst College offers the International Baccalaureate, A level and Cambridge Technical pathways in the Sixth Form.
