Scotland: Faslane Peace Vigil
Archbishop William Nolan, President of Justice & Peace Scotland and Archbishop of Glasgow; Right Rev Shaw Paterson, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland; and Bishop Andrew Swift of the Scottish Episcopal Church will be among the speakers at the Christian gathering united in opposition to nuclear weapons at HMNB Clyde (Faslane) South Gate, Maidstone Road, on Saturday, 3rd August - from 10.30am - 12pm.
All are invited to join this event, organised by Justice and Peace Scotland.
On many occasions all Popes and other church leaders have spoken out against nuclear weapons since their first use in 1945. In August 2022 Pope Francis wrote on X: "The use of Nuclear Weapons, as well as their mere possession, is immoral."
