London conference: Creating a culture of peace

Are you passionate about peace and social justice? Do you long to deepen your understanding of nonviolence in today's world? If so, JPIC Links (Justice, peace and the integrity of creation) invites you to join us on Saturday, October 12th - International Day of Non Violence - for an encouraging day at the FCJ Spirituality Centre, Saint Aloysius Convent, 32 Phoenix Road, London NW1 1TA. The conference, titled 'Creating a Culture of Peace: Living the Non-Violent Gospel', will run from 10am to 4pm and promises to be a thought-provoking day.

Andrew Jackson, Chief Executive of Pax Christi, and Sr Katrina Alton from the Sisters of St Joseph of Peace will lead the day. Andrew brings a wealth of experience from his work with CHIPS, a grassroots peacemaking charity, and his dedication to church-based social justice initiatives. As National Chaplain to Pax Christi, Sr Katrina has a long experience of nonviolent action for peace and justice and developing a spirituality of nonviolence. Together, they will guide us through key discussions on themes such as:

What is violence? What is nonviolence?
Exploring the six principles of nonviolence
How to advance nonviolence in the Church and the world
Reflecting on a spirituality of nonviolence

The day will offer time for reflection and discussion, concluding with a Eucharist at 4pm. This is an opportunity to explore how we, as Christians, can embrace and live the message of peace in a world that desperately needs it.

With a limited number of in-person spaces available, early registration is encouraged as places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will also be available via webinar for those unable to attend in person. Instructions on how to join the webinar will be provided upon registration.

Whether actively involved in justice and peace work or simply exploring how to live out a non-violent Gospel in your everyday life, this day is for you. Don't miss this opportunity to reflect deeply on your faith, and explore ways to build a culture of peace.
