Rome: Passionists elect new Superior General

The 48th General Chapter of the Passion of Jesus Christ Congregation today elected Father Giuseppe Adobati Carrara as Superior General, he was until now been Provincial Superior of the Province of MAPRAES ( Passionists of Italy, France, Portugal and missions.)

Father Joseph was born on 09/12/1969. His first profession was on 14 September 1991. He was ordained a priest on 1 June 1996.

The Passionist Order say in a statement today: "We ask for your prayers for him, that he may be enlightened by the light of the Spirit for the task entrusted to him. We also pray for him so that he will be illuminated with the light of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the task that has been entrusted to him.

"Therefore, with the same openness of spirit the Passionist Family throughout the world are invited to share in this mystery praying for the faithfulness to remain united in the love of Christ on the Cross."
