On Thursday, 7 November, St Mary's Catholic Primary School in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) welcomed two special guests to inspire its pupils.

Olympic gold medallist and the current fastest woman in the world, Julien Alfred, joined renowned author and educator Laura Henry-Allain, celebrated for her JoJo and Gran Gran children's books, for a memorable visit.

The event was made even more special with the attendance of the High Commissioner for Saint Lucia, His Excellency Anthony Severin, and the Mayor of RBKC, Councillor Will Lane.

The school hosted a special assembly where pupils heard Julien Alfred's inspiring story and had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions. The excitement continued outside, as children raced each other in the playground under the watchful eye of the world's fastest woman.
