'After ICC ruling, it is inconceivable for UK to allow arms sales to Israel'

Responding to reports that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the country's former defence minister Yoav Gallant and Hamas leader Mohammed Deif for alleged war crimes relating to the Gaza war, Christian Aid Head of Middle East Region William Bell said:

"In the name of justice, this categorical ruling by the ICC cannot be ignored. It is inconceivable for the UK Government to allow arms sales to the government of Israel whose leaders are subject to an arrest warrant for alleged war crimes.

"We need action, not words. The untold suffering inflicted by this abhorrent war must end with world leaders uniting behind demands for an immediate ceasefire."
