Podcast Gift to the Church
"I'm forever bumping into people who just feel very isolated. So something like this makes you feel part of a community, even if it;s unseen…an absolute gift to the church.' A recent podcast guest.
The All Kinds of Catholic podcast continues to provide listeners with refreshing and thought-provoking glimpses into how real Catholic people are living their faith.
As one listener said: "It is really easy to think of your own version of Catholicism as the only one but this really does open you up to different perspectives."
While each conversation has its own beauty and resonance, guests for Christmas, New Year and Epiphany episodes have been chosen with extra care. The Christmas episode features Jonathan Schranz, Director of Music in Southwark Archdiocese - and includes some wonderful sacred music. For New Year's day, Sean talks honestly about his faith journey and his work for peace - as befits the church's World Day of Peace. Following the celebration of the Feast of the Epiphany, three 'wise women' who have already been guests, will return to a new conversation about where, if anywhere, they are able to find hope for 2025.
Podcast creator and host, Theresa Alessandro says: "I want to thank all my guests who generously share their faith journeys and parts of their lives with listeners. Do take a moment to find the podcast on one of the platforms and follow it there so that you will be notified each time an episode lands. Tell family and friends and tune in over Christmas and New Year when you have a moment. The final document of the Synod encourages us to 'nurture what binds us together' and I believe sharing the podcast is one way to do that.'
The All Kinds of Catholic podcast is created and hosted by Theresa Alessandro. In each episode, Theresa is in conversation with a different Catholic guest exploring how they live their faith in the world today. Guests will often be people who are not in the public eye. Taken together, their stories illustrate the image Pope Francis uses in Evangelii Gaudium, of a 'chaotic…genuine experience of fraternity, a caravan of solidarity, a sacred pilgrimage' experienced by Catholic people 'stepping into this floodtide' of life.
This is the beginning of a new venture for Theresa and she is discerning the steps a few at a time. She would be happy to chat further about the podcast and more.
