Fr Sean Carroll RIP
Source: Diocese of Westminster.
A note on the home page of the Sacred Heart church, Ruislip, reads:
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved parish priest, Fr Sean Carroll.
He was found in the presbytery on the morning of 5th January 2025, the day before his second anniversary of arriving at Most Sacred Heart, Ruislip.
We give thanks for his devoted, joy-filled service to our community and the other parishes he served over the years. 'Well done, good and faithful servant' (Matthew 25: 23). Funeral details will be announced at a later date.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen
Fr Sean wrote on the parish website soon after he arrived:
I was appointed PP of the Most Sacred Heart Church Ruislip on the 6th Jan 2023. It was, I am sure, as a result of my Mum's prayers due to her devotion and love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Born and reared in Co Tipperary, I, after leaving school and much discernment, (eight years in fact), responded to God's call to priesthood, entering St Patrick's College, Thurles, and ordained six years later in 1988 for the Diocese of Westminster. After four very happy years in Our Lady of Lourdes, New Southgate and 20 months at Our Lady of Willesden, I was appointed PP at Five Precious Wounds, Stonebridge. I spent a short time as safeguarding coordinator before being appointed PP at Most Precious Blood and St Edmund, Edmonton in 2002. Still on the theme of suffering, (The Lord I think was trying to tell me something!!) I was appointed to St Peter in Chains, Stroud Green.
On reaching my 66th birthday in 2022 I asked for a short sabbatical to complete a long time desire (Bucket list) of mine to walk the Camino de Santiago before I got to old or infirm. It did not disappoint, it was truly an awesome spiritual experience.
The good people of Ruislip have made me really feel at home. There is no chance or coincidence in any of the above just as I am sure there is none in the fact that the colour representing the Sacred Heart and that of the Arsenal are the same!!!!!!!
