Towards the end of 2024, while families were preparing for the Christmas season and holidays, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem's social department conducted a series of sessions entitled 'Rise and Shine' to empower women beneficiaries in the Old City of Jerusalem, holding a total of seven sessions.

Ten women, primarily residents of the Holy City, who have participated in LPJ's women empowerment projects, took part in these workshops.

The sessions, led by Counsellor and Personal Development Coach Dr Ronda Amer, emphasised the unique worth of each participant, not only for themselves but also for their families and communities.

"Our ongoing workshop series is dedicated to supporting women by helping them reconnect with their inner strength and sense of worth," Dr Amer reported. She continued to explain that by using tools such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), drumming, and guided drawing, a space was created for participants to explore their emotions, alleviate stress, and achieve clarity. Working together to identify personal goals, break them down into actionable steps, and prioritise them effectively is essential. Additionally, it is important to recognize potential challenges and create strategies to overcome them.

One of the participants reported that she found the sessions very enriching where she learned about self-worth and how to deal with her daily challenges positively.
