The Christian Heritage Centre (CLC) at Stonyhurst's annual programme is currently open to applications for 2025 from students in their penultimate year of school. This innovative and unique course, which was inspired by Lord David Alton, is aimed at young people who want to engage more deeply with their Catholic faith, who want to reshape a Christian society, and who want to lead by example in the public square.
The programme builds around philosophical and theological input and workshops, led by top Catholic academics from St Mary's University, Twickenham and beyond, which elaborate the Catholic vision of the human person and society. Alongside these, students participate in workshops developing their media and interview skills, their personal virtues and their understanding of and ability to influence public policy. Team-building activities and plenty of social time provide a great opportunity to create friendships with like-minded peers from around the country, and a profound spiritual and liturgical activity gives shape to the whole experience.
The programme is delivered across three residential modules, taking place at Stonyhurst and in London, concluding with a tour of Parliament and the presentation of certificates in Westminster Hall.
Interested students are simply required to fill out a form and submit a short, personal statement. Parents are invited to choose a level of donation towards the programme's costs that is appropriate for them, but there is no financial pre-requisite. The charity seeks to provide for any required subsidy through its network of sponsors.
Applications close on 16th April for 2025's intake.
