Being a Bishop in Scotland
'Being A Bishop in Scotland' - the memoirs of Bishop Maurice Taylor is published next week, by the Columba Press.
Bishop Taylor was born in 1926 and became Bishop of Galloway in 1981 until his retirement in 2004. His book includes accounts of his life as a soldier during the Second World War, a seminarian in Rome, Rector of the Scots College in Spain and Chairman of ICEL (International Commission on English in the Liturgy).
Commenting on the book, Bishop Taylor said: "I have greatly enjoyed writing this book and felt that since relatively few people become bishops, some details of my experience may be of interest - I hope this is the case. It is intended as an accessible, readable and personal account of my experiences at home and abroad over many years. I hope it is enjoyed by all who read it."
