First iBreviary approved by the Vatican
The Vatican Council for Social Communications has, for the first time, approved an iBreviary for the iPhone.
The iBreviary includes a complete missal and principal prayers. It is easy to use and can be download from iTunes for $0.99.
"As with almost any iPhone application, iBreviary is easy to use, sporting iPhone like user interface. In addition, size of the characters can be increased, landscape mode is supported (using accelerometer) and much more" reports Infomobile.
There are plans for audio accompaniments, Gregorian chant, as well as additional prayers.
The creator of iBreviary, Fr Paolo Padrini, runs a popular website called Passi nel deserto ('Steps in the desert'). At the moment iBreviary is available only in Italian, but English and Spanish versions will be out soon.
