Last Christian Peacekeepers leave Iraq
All the remaining 'Christian Peacekeepers' have now left Iraq. The Chicago office learnt yesterday the group have arrived safely in Jordan. One member of the group, Scott Kerr, said the group were all safe. Iraqi news services had reported that some American peace activists or 'human shields' had been bombed by US forces - but Scott said all the CPT members were accounted for, and well. Christian Peacemaker Teams is an initiative of the historic peace churches (Mennonites, Church of the Brethren, and Quakers) with support and membership from a range of Catholic and Protestant denominations.
