St Dogmael
A 6th century Welsh monk, Dogmael is thought to have lived in Pembrokeshire and Anglesey as many places there are dedicated to him, including St Dogmael, across the river from Cardigan. A parish in Anglesey also bears his name. At some time in his life he moved to Brittany, where a St Dogmeel, or St Toel still has a cult.
He is said to have founded monasteries on both sides of the Channel. St Dogmael is invoked to help children learn to walk.
